Kalama, WA is a great area, close to 2 lakes and only 40 miles to Portland, OR.Job DescriptionSchedule: 12 hour rotating shifts (7am to 7pm / 7pm - 7am | 3 days on - 2 days off - 2 days on - 3 days off)The Plant Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright maintains operation of equipment and machines in the cold end area, including from the end of the Lehr machine to the palletizers.The Plant Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright will:
  • Perform routine, preventive, and emergency repairs in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
  • Perform precision equipment installations using the appropriate measuring devices.
  • Calibrate and set-up measuring and inspection equipment throughout the plant.
  • Demonstrate skill with the tools of the trade to include testing and measuring equipment, rigging, and all applicable safety equipment.
  • Possess skill with oxy-acetylene cutting, structural welding (AWS D1.1) and pipe welding (ANSI/ASME 31.1).
  • Comply with all safety programs.
The Plant Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright should have:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, schematics, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Proficient computer skills, including entering information into a database.
  • Excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • A willingness and ability to acquire a Washington Electrical License.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Journeyman Card or 5 years of relevant experience required
  • Must be able to work 12 hour rotating shifts
  • A Washington State Electrical License is preferred
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting experience and electrical or electronics training strongly preferred
