Finance & AccountingJob Summary:The Financial Reporting Analyst will be a vital resource in accounting and reporting for some of CF's most interesting accounting areas. This role will provide a candidate the opportunity to learn new accounting areas, determine appropriate accounting treatments for significant or unusual transactions, problem solve, recommend solutions, and help drive process changes as CF continues to develop and evolve into the future.Job Description:Technical Topic Areas
- Responsible for overseeing areas such as stock compensation, EPS, leases, asset retirement obligations, pensions and post-retirement benefits, and natural gas derivatives
- Preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and internal reports
- Responsibilities may also include assisting in projects that relate to these areas including benefit plan audits, fair value testing and leveling, and other accounting-related projects as they arise
- Responsible for preparation and issuance of our 10-Q and 10-K in compliance with the accounting and reporting requirements of the SEC and FASB
- Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and disclosures
- Responsibilities may also include providing support to the Investor Relations team, including the accounting review of the quarterly earnings releases, investor presentations and investor call scripts
- Serves as a technical accounting resource for the company.
- Assists the larger team by evaluating and advising on new, complex, or unusual business transactions
- Reviewing and implementing new SEC rules and accounting standards updates
- Assisting in research or documenting conclusions
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting. CPA certification or CPA candidate preferred.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, ideally including experience with exposure to technical accounting and/or financial reporting in a publicly-traded company or a CPA firm.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Technical knowledge in accounting and internal controls: some technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC rules, and internal controls over financial reporting with the desire to learn and grow in these areas.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Workiva experience is preferred.
