- Work with Manager of Lifelong Learning and Accessibility to ideate and develop programming for Free First Saturday and Sensory Friendly Sunday that is inclusive.
- Work with Communications and Content Departments to develop content for advertisements, press coverage, web content, and other promotional materials in a timely manner.
- Maintain timely and accurate program statistics. Prepare reports as needed.
- Collect and administer surveys to track visitor engagement and satisfaction.
- Work with volunteers and contracted artists as needed.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned including intra-departmental program support for other areas of PELI.
- Foster partnerships with Twin Cities organizations for collaborative multigenerational programming.
- Share information across the organization and collaborate with colleagues in a manner that supports initiatives and practices that welcome families, older adults, and visitors with disabilities.
- Assist with community outreach programs, including summer fairs and festivals.
- Stay informed about other relevant family, creative aging, and accessibility programs locally, nationally and internationally.
- 1 – 2 years administrative experience and/or experience assisting with programming.
- Experience working with young learners, older adults, and people of all ages with disabilities including physical and/or cognitive disabilities.
- Proven ability to welcome, encourage, educate, and engage with visitors of all ages, abilities, attitudes, and cultural backgrounds.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Familiarity with art materials and art-making techniques.
- Proactive and able to work independently, ability to problem solve and quickly adapt to a range of situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (word, excel, email), ability to write reports, create presentations, and create an assortment of administrative documents.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule with hours and days determined and required by programming. Must be available to work the first Saturday (all day) and second Sunday morning of every month
- Fluency in a language in addition to English with preference for Hmong, Somali, Spanish, and/or American Sign Language
- Education in disability studies, education, fine arts, design or architecture, art history, or art education.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk using a computer. (Approximately 70% of time.)
- Ability to direct and assist with setup of events, moving up to 15 lbs on occasion
