- Follow Standard Operating Procedures, set up new operating procedures as required for future department development
- Technical set up of machines to run at optimum speed, as per GPC benchmarks, including machine speed increases if required.
- Complete parts changeovers as per production schedule and in accordance with established procedures and timeframes and assist with tool changeovers
- Provide support to ensure machine efficiency targets are achieved (trouble-shooting)
- Assist with management of machine downtime, including breakdown & maintenance
- Prepare and check changeover trolleys, ensuring components are ready prior to tool change
- Minimize waste & scrap and record relevant data
- Co-ordinate the set up and approval of new products, as per GPC customer requirements
- Approve new products when required
- Carry out First Off Verifications/critical control points on Product
- Complete full quality check on product after attending any machine
- Ensure adherence to GPC standards by completing spot checks at machines
- Ensure all products conform to required quality standards, product quality optimization
- Detect, root cause and resolve NC/CC source efficiently and effectively, using the continuous improvement approach to problem solving
- Carry out minor maintenance tasks
- Provide assistance and/or technical support to maintenance engineers
- Be a champion of Continuous Improvement Activity in the Inline department
- Willing to undertake program of internal training as per GPC technician training program
- Train Machine Operators as per their detailed training plan
- Actively demonstrate the Greiner Values, Trust, Continuity, and Sustainability, to create the 'Greiner Culture' within the site.
- Provide machine cover if required to maximize machine hours
- Operate machines as and when required
- Update and input information on I.T systems
- Maintain High levels of Housekeeping and Safety, in accordance with relevant procedures
- Liaise with other technical staff and provide support to shift leader/department manager
- Adapt role and duties as per operational requirements
- Strong technical capability, evidenced by a minimum of 12 months experience in a similar Process Technician role, in a plastics manufacturing organization, is preferred but not necessary (Extrusion/thermoforming)
- Experience of Knowledge Transfer through Training of others
- Minimum high school diploma, preferably also technical/vocational qualification at certificate level
- Willing to travel internationally as part of the training plan for the role/site (if needed)
- ·Requires hand washing multiple times throughout a shift, including exposure to cleaning agents that may be harsh to the skin. (PPE Provided)
