*This position can by hybrid in Milwaukee, WI or completely remote.POSITION OVERVIEW:Manager II – Export Controls Manager reports to the Senior Director of Trade Compliance and works with senior management at the facilities to implement export control policies and procedures, ensuring all divisions are compliant with U.S. and foreign export control regulations. The manager identifies and implements strategies to improve, streamline, and standardize export control processes.This position is part of the Global Trade Compliance Department and is responsible for trade controls compliance across 24 U.S. Export controlled manufacturing facilities and provides global advisory on U.S. export-controlled products. This position has 3 direct reports currently.POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Designs and implements programs, policies, and practices to ensure compliance with U.S. Export control laws and Monitors and tracks laws and regulations that may impact organizational policies.
  • Provides expert guidance on International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and oversees the determination and maintenance of ITAR and EAR classifications.
  • Issues and maintains Technology Control Plans and Facility Control Plans.
  • Manages team that conducts periodic audits, assessments, and reviews to ensure compliance.
  • Applies for and manages technology/technical data export licenses, foreign person employment licenses, Technical Assistance Agreements, and Manufacturing License Agreements.
  • Collaborates with the Manager of Policy, Procedure, and Training to develop and execute export control training programs.
  • Investigates and manages incidents of non-compliance, including drafting and reporting violations to appropriate authorities and implementing corrective actions.
  • Defines and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) for trade compliance effectiveness, including audit outcomes, license turnaround times, and training completion rates.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree or greater and a minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and developing U.S. Export control programs.
  • Preferred certifications: CES, CUSECO, or other industry-recognized credentials.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving change in a complex, multi-level organization.
  • Strong leadership skills with excellent interpersonal and management skills; frequent interaction with Business Managers, Manufacturing Facilities, Legal Services, Global Purchasing, Marketing, Corporate Accounting, Corporate Tax, Corporate Auditing, outside counsel, and government officials.
  • Domestic and international travel required (~25%).

Salary is dependent on a multitude of factors, including but not limited to the physical worksite location, the geographic market of that location, candidate's skill set, level of experience, education and internal peer compensation comparisons among other potential factors.Annual base salary range: $90,000-$130,000Benefits
