- Performs function of receiving, reviewing, processing and reconciling supplier invoices
- Uses 3-way matching of invoices, purchase order and packing slip
- Prepare vendor account reconciliations - supplier statements vs. Payables
- Ensure expenses are charged to the proper department and make any necessary reclassification journal entries
- Troubleshoot and resolve invoice discrepancies by working with Indirect Procurement, Receiving, Corporate AP and vendors
- Prepare accounting journal entries as assigned for month-end close
- Reconciles and manages accounts payable accounts as assigned
- Preparation of schedules and reporting and analysis as needed
- Cross-train as back up support for other accounts payable team members
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures
- Support the Accounting Manager's efforts for maintaining internal controls related to the accounting tasks
- Work with the Accounting Manager and Senior Accountants to ensure accounting policies are followed and procedures are developed
- Assist with preparation of audit schedules with proper documentation
- Assist auditors with any inquiries
- To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees', wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.
- Accounting/Business Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or similar environment
- Advanced literacy with Microsoft Office, especially Excel spreadsheets and database functions
- Follows procedures put in place by the finance team to compile data into worksheets and databases
- Ability to use reasoning to solve problems that may arise
- Ability to work Independently
- Communicate effectively with fellow team members and members of other departments
- Utilize established resources to complete work efficiently and effectively
- Strong customer service skills including excellent verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Responds to inquiries from other departments in a timely manner
