Unlock your potential at Good Samaritan Hospital!Job Summary and QualificationsThe RN Lactation Specialist is a certified individual that holds specialized knowledge and clinical expertise in breastfeeding and human lactation and provides comprehensive breastfeeding education, support and assistance for women during the prenatal to post partum periods and will be dedicated to the NICU.What you will do in this role:
  • You will provide evidence-based information and education to inpatient and outpatient breastfeeding mothers.
  • You will provide comprehensive mother/baby feeding assessments and feeding plans using current and approved techniques and devices that safely support breastfeeding.
  • You will collaborate with staff and providers to create a lactation feeding plan.
  • You will provide education to staff and providers on current breastfeeding best practices.
  • You will utilize evidenced based literature to drive lactation policies and best practice.
What qualifications you will need:
  • (IBCLC) International Board Certified Lactation Consultant required
  • (RN) Registered Nurse California License required
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required
  • Minimum 1 year related experience required
  • 2 Year/Associate Degree in related field preferred. B.A. / B.S. preferred.
