The Staff Accountant – General Ledger and Accounts Receivable will oversee all aspects of General Ledger activity and Accounts Receivable, playing a key role maintaining accurate financial records.   • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate coding and documentation.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and schedules.
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, especially for AR and accrued revenue.
  • Assist with audit preparation, including pulling support and documentation for GL entries.
  • Support restricted and unrestricted fund accounting and grant reporting as needed.
Accounts Receivable Duties:
  • Prepare and issue invoices to funders, donors, and other stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor and manage AR aging, following up on outstanding balances and resolving discrepancies.
  • Record incoming payments (checks, EFTs, donations) and allocate them appropriately in the accounting system.
  • Reconcile AR subledger to the general ledger monthly.
  • Assist with donor/grant receipting and ensure compliance with funding agreements.
General Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the monthly and year-end closing processes.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the financial team.
What you must have:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience working in GL accounting, preferably within the non-profit sector
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in cloud-based accounting software (NetSuite preferred)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, and accounts receivable principles and practices.
  • Working knowledge of office management functions including strong computer and technology skills (proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational skills, including keen attention to detail and ease at managing competing demands and determining priorities independently
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity
  • Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Background Check: Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, including CBI/FBI fingerprinting. MVR and a national sex offender registry check
  • Other: Ability to work flexible hours, Driver's license, bilingual preferred

Compensation:
  • $70,000- $75,000 annually
