Here, you will make an impact by:
  • Provide direction to technical employees and accountability for project leadership/outcomes for projects/programs that support 3M’s product and manufacturing EHS compliance and regulatory obligations as well as environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals
  • Expand the Global EHS Lab’s reach, leveraging the lab’s analytical capabilities and quality system across 3M.
  • Partner with 3M manufacturing sites and help ensure their environmental-related data meets the accuracy and transparency expectations for 3M’s EHS compliance and ESG commitments.
  • Coaching, mentoring, professional development, performance reviews, succession planning, resource assessments, and budget management.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology or a Science discipline (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Three (3) years of experience in advanced chromatography techniques including Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) in a public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
  • Possess a Master’s or Ph.D. degree (completed and verified prior to start) in a science discipline from an accredited institution
  • Prior laboratory experience with ISO 17025 accreditation
  • Prior experience working with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks/projects and manage priorities accordingly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent documentation skills, ability to work independently to complete projects, as well as work with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with employee development and training in a laboratory environment
