- Perform preventative and routine maintenance on plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair building systems and components.
- Maintain and update service records using our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Assist with minor construction and repair work across trades.
- Respond to emergency calls and assist during inclement weather or closures.
- Operate college vehicles and maintain accurate logs.
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Read and interpret blueprints and building plans.
- Troubleshoot leaks and monitor pressure systems.
- Use hand and power tools to fit, assemble, and test pipe systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with other team members to complete repairs and upgrades efficiently and effectively.
- Education Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a plumbing certification or degree program from a technical school is strongly preferred.
- Experience: At least four years of hands-on experience in plumbing and facilities maintenance, including knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Licenses & Certifications: A valid Utah driver's license is required. Must obtain forklift certification within the first few months of employment. A journeyman license is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using hand and power tools, technical manuals, and mechanical equipment. Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project), and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, etc.).
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently to diagnose and resolve maintenance and plumbing issues.
- Communication & Teamwork: Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other technicians, contractors, and campus personnel.
- Organizational Abilities: Strong skills in time management, multitasking, and organization to efficiently handle multiple responsibilities.
- Attention to Detail: A sharp eye for identifying repair needs and performing maintenance accurately and safely. Understanding of safety procedures, codes, and compliance standards.
