Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Linguistics, Psychology, or closely related field. Sign language research experience.Preferred Qualifications:
Conversational fluency in American Sign Language.Brief Description of Duties:
The postdoctoral researcher can work on site or may work from home in a full time remote/hybrid capacity under the supervision of in the at Stony Brook University and performs collaborative research with Dr. Singleton.
- Collaborate on research involving classroom discourse data in American Sign Language and English, developmental differences in ASL acquisition, observational and experimental studies involving sign language
- Lead or co-lead manuscript development for publications
- Develop new ideas for collaborative research, including grant proposal development
- Lead preparation of posters/presentations for conferences
- Document Singleton Lab progress, organize lab meetings, and co-supervise undergraduate research assistants
- Participate in management of confidential data
- Assist with IRB applications and management
- Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission
