- Direct, develop and implement the DSC Real Estate Solutions business agenda in partnership with regional DSC Management Board, the RES global board, and RES NORAM leadership team as aligned with the company’s overall goals.
- Ensure regional strategic alignment with business sector leadership (e.g., Life Science, Technology, eCommerce, Consumer, Retail, Automotive, Manufacturing & Energy) and functional leadership (e.g., Finance, HR, Operations, IT, Legal, Business Development) to create and drive pipeline opportunities as well as accelerate the growth of the contract logistics business through real estate portfolio refresh and space for growth.
- Drive change management and build executive support and sponsorship for key RES initiatives within DSC business.
- Provide strategic RES advice to senior RES regional teams.
- Be a well-rounded thought leader in real estate and strategy, providing advice to RES regional teams, DSC leadership (incl. CEO and CFO), and externally with customers.
- Represent RES NORAM strategy, projects, and business cases in management boards including NORAM Board, Global Divisional Board, Corporate Board, and Supervisory Board
- Reach agreements with external parties to accept complete proposal and programs where there is little interest in cooperating or participating.
- Be a key regional RES decision maker for BCA approval, key execution milestones, and contracts for Real Estate Solutions projects. Ensures all Real Estate Solution deals are aligned with stated global process including DSC approvals
- Drive the commercial agenda as the lead deal maker for RES
- Negotiate critical agreements / contracts and has the mandate / authority to sign them, changing T&Cs significantly.
- Develop processes, standards and operational plans in support of the organization's business strategies, with a direct impact on business unit/function overall results
- Ensure that risks associated with regional projects are being identified and mitigated and that all activities are in full compliance with company policies, laws and regulations.
- Serve as the top line mentor in the region to RES NORAM leadership team and promote a culture of bite, humility, and building smart connections with key stakeholders
- Represent RES in external forums to promote DSC’s premier real estate development capabilities
- Establish and own regional budget and P&L for Real Estate Solutions NORAM business
- Lead and manage RES team; determines team structure, roles, performance targets in cooperation with general management
- Approve key Human Resources decisions for the function in the region
- Recruit and develop RES regional team members & coordinates onboarding process
- Evaluate performance and proposes performance-based compensation for direct reports
- Sponsor a global functional community (e.g., Program Management, Development, Construction, Capital Markets, etc.)
- Generate commitment, motivation and enthusiasm for the RES business and brand both internally and externally
- Relevant Bachelor's Degree (or higher) e.g. in Construction Management or Engineering or Architecture or Real Estate related field or Business or Logistics or Finance, required
- Masters Degree, preferred
- 15+ years of relevant Commercial/ Corporate Real Estate (Developer, Property Leasing Agencies, Brokers, large corporations In-House Real Estate Specialist) or Logistics experience (e.g., Business Development, Commercial/Finance, Operations), required
- 5+ years leadership experience (staff or vendor leadership), required
- Experience contributing to and partnering with management boards, preferred
- Membership in Professional Real Estate Institutions, preferred
