POSITION OVERVIEWThe General Supervisor Electrical is responsible for supervising and coordinating various electrical maintenance and process control activities at the Hayden Operations. This includes the execution of detailed job plans, facilitates compliance with OEM specifications, identifying best practices, maximizing availability and compliance with all safety and environmental policies.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensures that all department work performed is done in a safe manner and that all work areas are maintained to meet or exceed all OSHA, MSHA, ASMI and NEC standards.
Directs all electrical & instrumentation supervisors.
Knowledge and experience with motor switchgear, control and VFD drives.
Ladder logic programming and troubleshooting using the Allen-Bradley, Modicon Quantum, Unity Pro and GE Proficy families of programming software.
Plans and manages projects, including major shutdown projects.
Coordinates with outside contractors and vendors.
Coordinate and communicate with production department supervision on all electrical maintenance activities.
Facilitate equipment and system rebuilds; including prepare rebuild specifications, oversee execution, perform inspections, and prepare documentation and reports to ensure that all work complies with specifications.
Reviews action plans to address repetitive and catastrophic component failures.
Trains supervisors in safety and environmental policies/procedures.
Knowledge and understanding of the Basic Labor Agreement and safety policies.
Manage purchasing of operating consumables and electrical repair materials.
Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality, and code of conduct.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be proficient with MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel MS Project, and MS Outlook.
Applicant must have good communications skills (oral and written).
Knowledge of SAP and Kronos software is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Sound understanding of OSHA/MSHA, safety, and environmental regulations as they relate to the area of work.
Knowledge with data transfer via Serial, Data Highway+. Control Net, Ethernet protocols, and fiber optics is a plus.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to solicit input from his/her staff.
ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY
The job requires training or instruction in Environmental Awareness.
This job requires training or instruction in Safety & Health awareness including completion of the appropriate OSHA/MSHA training.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Electrical Maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment.
Three (3) years of experience as a supervisor/manager is a plus.
Four (4) years of College, Technical School, or Certified Apprenticeship + six (6) years related work experience.

Ten (10) years of related work experience
Knowledge of high voltage power systems is desired.
