- Assist the Materials Supervisor in planning for staffing the production/process areas.
- Assist the Materials Supervisor in the preparation of training materials and techniques to improve skills.
- Assist the Materials Supervisor in the evaluation of team members and their standard work.
- Assist Materials Supervisor in managing inventory accurately through proper transactions and material movements.
- Assist the Materials Supervisor in the identification of training deficiencies.
- Provides daily instructions to Material Handlers on each shift.
- Assist the Materials Supervisor in additional tasks as requested.
- Coordinates product pickups by monitoring production to include loading and moving product.
- Ensures product is stored by designating storage areas, adjusting storage areas according to production and shipping requirements and by updating location database.
- Verifies product inventory reports by comparing logs and reports; adjusting entries.
- Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records; maintaining databases.
- Monitors inventory by completion of cycle counts as required.
- Analyze cycle count variance to confirm root cause and provide corrective action.
- Report progress updates, key achievements and any concerns to the Material Supervisor
- Ensure all lean tools are being used or maintained as part of the standard work.
- Keep warehouse areas neat and orderly.
- State the location of Material Safety Data Sheets, Fire Extinguishers, First Aid Kits, AED, Fire Exits.
- Account for team members during evacuations.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Accomplishes distribution and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Help drive team to focus on goals and targets and while achieving required results.
- Ensure warehouse and inventory documentation and data bases are timely, accurate and complete.
- Participate in process improvement activities as needed.
- Ensure FIFO is maintained and look for improvements to the process.
- Assist in running an efficient warehouse operation which is able to fulfill operational and customer demand and meet set targets.
- Fork lift operator license preferred; will provide training.
- Minimum High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 2 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have strong math skills and is capable of writing legibly.
- Team player who is an organized planner with time management & reporting skills along with the ability to multi task in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment.
- Ability to work with minimum of supervision, including prioritizing of work.
- Occasional overtime and weekend work required.
- Ability to delegate work timely and effectively
