Description Summary Statement You will be learning and participating in key aspects of the software development lifecycle while furthering your skills in developing and maintaining our next generation of applications to our customers. What You Will Be Doing As a Penske Associate Software Engineer I, you will develop your technical skills and business acumen under the leadership of more senior members of the team. You will be involved in a variety of projects that will provide you opportunities to build new applications or enhance existing applications that improves the customer experience. You will also assist in debugging existing applications. Penske Responsibilities bull Participate in certain aspects of the Penske defined Software Development lifecycle through supporting existing software development efforts and developing new software modules. bull Support parts of the application lifecycle (develop, test, release and support) based on detailed requirements and guidance from seniorlead developers and management. bull Learn to Design backend database schemas, using concepts such as Database Normalization write basic SQL statements. bull Collaborate with technical leads and product owners to acquire and understand requirements acceptance criteria when applicable. bull Build stable working relationships internally bull Produce deliverables with clean, well-documented and easily maintainable code that adheres to defined code standards. bull Learn to troubleshoot Debug software applications. bull Learn to write unit UI tests to help identify defects. bull Work closely with the project team and report clearly and accurately to management. bull Collaborate effectively in an agile work environment across teams Qualifications Qualifications bull Bachelor's Degree in Computer ScienceComputer Engineering or equivalent years of experience bull 1 years' of experience developing software applications. bull Basic Knowledge of appropriate programming languages such as JavaRPG bull Basic knowledge of front-end technology such as React, Angular, jQuery, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS bull Basic Knowledge of appropriate design frameworks and object-oriented techniques dependent upon the role. (filled out by business unit) bull High level understanding of relational database design. bull Understanding of the full system development lifecycle. bull Ability to work in a team environment and seek guidance on tasks from senior developers and leads. bull Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job. bull Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
