- Define, develop, and implement a comprehensive food safety and quality strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Proactively and effectively monitor product manufacturing in a way that results in outstanding quality results.
- Build, lead, and develop a team of food safety and quality professionals, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning
- Develop and implement innovative and standardized quality systems and programs.
- Champion continuous improvement efforts and defect/waste reduction initiatives
- Work with commercial leaders to tackle our customer concerns and present our strategy on Quality and Food Safety
- Oversee food safety tasks as required for foreign material control, sanitation, critical control point operation, GMP's and storage practices.
- Oversee tasks as designated for implementation and maintenance of the SQF Food Safety systems.
- Develops and manages processes and procedures related to food safety and quality assurance across the enterprise.
- Leads and collaborates with key stakeholders such as third-party auditors, regulatory agencies, and pest control programs to ensure effectiveness and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Works with our Engineering and Commercialization team to ensure Food Safety, Quality, and EHS are built into our new Products and Processes.
- Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of QA/QC experience in the food manufacturing industry, with a minimum of 5 years of experience managing quality and regulatory affairs.
- Deep understanding of Quality Food Systems and VOC
- Inspirational Leader who has built and led teams in direct and cross-functional environments
- Ability to build a Customer centric strategy and organization, and still willing to get in the plants and work with the teams to solve current problems.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and quality management systems.
- High sense of urgency to solve the customers issues
- Must have a proven track record of effective collaboration with product development, commercialization, manufacturing, procurement, and distribution functions.
- Background, training, and experience in regulatory compliance
- Experience in developing SOP's, manufacturing standards, protocols, and procedures for quality assurance
- Analytical acumen and ability to effectively perform root cause analysis.
- Multi-facility and multi-product line experience
- Willingness to travel, up to 50% on average
