utilizing the approved Infection Prevention cleaning guide and manufacturer's IFU's.
Maintains cleanliness and organization of equipment in storage areas as well.
2. Follows Policy and Procedures regarding specimen handling and blood product handling.
3. Utilizes surgical schedule and surgeon preference cards to prepare the Operating Room suite
for each surgical procedure and notifies appropriate personnel of any potential issues or
possible delays.
4. Labels and reports defective equipment promptly to clinical engineering, completes
appropriate paperwork and documents information in repair logbook for future reference.
5. Assist in lifting and transfer of patients under supervision utilizing proper transfer devices and
body alignment.
6. Restocks supplies in assigned areas of the unit, reporting par deficits to materials manager.
Cleans and checks outdates before restocking
7. Maintains a safe environment by following unit and hospital-based policies and protocols.
Practices universal precautions properly handling hazardous waste, sharps, trash,
contaminated linen, medication disposal and oxygen storage.
8. Seeks informal and formal opportunities for learning. Completes mandatories and assigned
competencies as required by their role. Recognizes one's own limitations and seeks
appropriate resources as necessary.
9. Responds promptly to requests and emergency situations. Communicates with the charge
nurse when unable to meet the needs of the unit. Demonstrates a commitment to
teamwork, fostering positive working relationships, especially in the preceptor role.
10. Demonstrates flexibility in meeting the needs of the unit, accepting assignments willingly.
11. Demonstrates independent task accomplishment as well.
12. Maintains patient and medical staff confidentiality, reporting compliance issues to
appropriate personnel when in question.
13. Supports nursing personnel in providing direct patient care and assists patients with daily activities.
14. Changes bed linens, runs errands and prepares supplies.
15. Transports patients within the facility.
16. Ensures a safe care environment for the patients and their families.
17. Performs continuous rounds and check-ins throughout the shift to ensure patient and family needs are met.
18. Performs other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Any previous experience in a hospital setting a plus
