DevOps EngineerHaymarket Media, Inc. is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join the Engineering team, located in our New York office with three days in office required, fully remote is NOT an option. Visa sponsorship is also NOT available.Job Overview:Haymarket Media is seeking a skilled and motivated DevOps Developer 5 - 7 years experience to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance, scalable WordPress-based web applications utilizing modern PHP8. You will work closely with other team members and stakeholders to deliver exceptional user experiences and innovative solutions. This position requires a strong understanding of WordPress internals, modern JavaScript, and cloud-based architectures, as well as a commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and testable code.Responsibilities:Develop new developer-facing featuresOptimise application for maximum performance and scalabilityEnsure on-time delivery of high-quality, testable codeMaintain organization infrastructure diagrams and documentationCollaborate with other team members and stakeholdersAccountable for ensuring infrastructure updates and patches are completed in a timely mannerResponsible for ensuring that quarter audits are completedSkills and Requirements:Demonstrable proficiency in WordPress APIs and MultiSite management with a strong emphasis on WP CLIProficient understanding of Terraform and CloudformationProficiency with clean PHP8 object oriented coding standardsDemonstrable proficiency with config management such as Ansible, Chef, or PuppetDemonstrable knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, AWS, and serverless based architecturesExperience working with containers such as DockerFamiliarity with gcloud or aws cli a mustProficiency in Python 3.8 and BASH a mustProficient understanding of Git and GitLab CICDKnowledge of Testing and Tooling, with tools like PHPUnit and JUnit, CypressJS and SeleniumDemonstrable proficiency in ElasticsearchProficient understanding of OpenTelemetry and observability platforms like NewRelicGood understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and REST APIs, AJAX and WPGraphQLProficiency in WP_Query and custom MySql queriesPractical knowledge of CDN technologies such as Cloudflare, Fastly or AkamaiGood documentation skills are a mustNice To Have Skills:Understanding NodeJS as well as npm task runners such as WebPack, Vite, or gulpFamiliarity with JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as Vue, React, AngularMessage Queueing systems such as AWS SQS, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, RabbitMQPractical knowledge of AWS Lambdas, CloudFlare Workers or Google Cloud FunctionsSpecial Instructions:A cover letter is requiredWhat We Offer:A competitive compensation packageThe salary range for this position is $150,000–$165,000.
