
Senior Project Manager / Civil Engineer – Land Development

- Lead and develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of projects
- Help build and lead a multi-dimensional team of civil engineering professionals
- Provide technical and career guidance as a mentor to staff
- Manage medium to large multi-disciplined projects for both public and private clients
- Provide input to Market Leads for Institutional, Real Estate, Transportation, and Energy Markets
- Develop new project opportunities, maintain client relations, and manage proposal submissions
- Prepare workload projections and track project financial performance
- Prepare and review design drawings, specifications, and permitting documents
- Lead meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, boards, utility providers, and stakeholders
- Administer VHB’s quality program and reviews for project deliverables
- Supervise design team activities during Construction Administration/Support Services
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in civil site layout, local roadway design, grading/drainage, utility design, and erosion/sediment control
- Experience with real estate projects, institutional, transportation, and energy projects a plus
- A basic understanding of the need for land survey, traffic engineering, geotechnical engineering, and site investigation and remediation, as supporting disciplines to projects

- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required
- Master’s degree a plus (may substitute for 1 year of experience)
- 11-15+ years of professional civil design engineering experience required
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required
- A local knowledge and understanding of working on Long Island a plus
- Experience with abilities of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil3D, and/or MicroStation
- Experience managing client relationships and overseeing end-to-end project delivery across multiple accounts.
