
Global Indirect Tax Automation Experienced Manager (Tax Technology)

- Serve as the Project Manager on assigned third-party tax software implementations (Vertex, Avalara, Sovos, Thomson Reuters, ADP, Billsoft) and custom software development projects
- Manage assigned system integration projects that involve major ERP and billing systems, such as SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, etc
- Requirements analysis and design for indirect tax software implementations
- Manage programming for custom system interfaces and modification of preexisting interfaces
- Manage testing and support of assigned system go-live projects
- Develop and deliver key project documentation including requirements documents, design documents, and test plans
- Help develop and lead staff to enable them to perform core project activities
- Participating in Sales meetings and Proposal Development meetings
- Network and develop key relationships both within Grant Thornton and externally
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in related technical field
- Must have one of the below credentials:
- Project Management Professional, Six Sigma, Lean or equivalent certification
- Master's degree in accounting, Tax Business Administration, Finance or Information Systems Tax
- Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation
- Equivalent accounting certification or law license in home country (e.g., Chartered Accountant)
- Five years of experience with SAP/Oracle functional and/or technical experience
- Two years of Oracle EBS/ERP Cloud/SAP ABAP Design and Development experience
- Deep technical understanding of SAP or Oracle. This includes understanding the customization path in the solutions, the table structures, and the core functional Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay streams
- SAP Namespace development a plus
- Experience writing documentation for ERP implementations
- Experience managing and developing team members for these types of implementations
- Experience in public accounting is a plus
- Strong computer skills required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel as needed
