Worker Type: EmployeeJob Post End Date: 09/12/2025About this opportunity:Cenovus is hiring an Inspector for our Superior, WI refinery. This role is responsible for ensuring the mechanical integrity of pressure-containing equipment within assigned units, in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves collecting and analyzing equipment data, making recommendations to support safe and reliable operations. The Inspector collaborates closely with operations and maintenance teams, guiding work execution and mentoring contract inspectors and NDT technicians. Additionally, they support the development of Inspection Test Plans to prioritize safety and compliance.Interested in working in Superior?What you’ll do:Ensure all required jurisdictional on-stream, out-of-service, and/or monitoring inspections and activities are completed as scheduled and as required.Review all inspections completed and perform life cycle, corrosion rate, and/or remaining life calculations to determine integrity of fixed equipment per API recommended practices.Perform reviews of all NDE, PMI, and other work performed on fixed equipment by maintenance, maintenance contractors, inspection contractor, and/or other TAR contractor activities, and maintain active communication with operations, maintenance, engineering, and terminal operations to ensure safe and reliable operation of fixed equipment.Manage, review, and maintain data received and entered into the IDMS and assure accuracy of reporting information.Generate inspection requirements, NDE requirements, and other relevant hold points for the general inspection of and/or work performed on fixed equipment, and coordinate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and TAR groups to ensure all existing and/or proposed work is scheduled and completed as per applicable jurisdictional standards and ensure all work is completed to refinery QA/QC standards.Perform other activities directed by the inspection/integrity manager, as required and/or necessary to support Safety, Compliance and Reliable Operations.Who you are:Legally authorized to work in the US4+ years minimum of refinery or similar oil/petrochemical industry experienceHSD or equivalentRequired to obtain API 510 certification within first year of employmentCertifications in API 653, AWS-CWI, and/or API 570, as well as applicable knowledge of ASNT-TC1A NDE, API 571, API 580 damage mechanisms, and RBI techniques, are considered assetsWe acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT SEPTEMBER 11, 2025.Internal candidates that are currently in a lower grade will be assessed based on their sustained job performance, how they demonstrate the expected organizational competency behaviors and values and in discussions with their current leader prior to determining next steps.Cenovus was ranked one of Canada’s Best Employers in 2025.
