ResponsibilitiesJob Summary:The Surgical Services Department at Jewish Hospital consists of the following three areas: Main Hospital; Heart Hospital; and Outpatient Care Center, which includes the Hand Care Center. Surgical Services is open 24 hours a day and 365 days a year to ensure all surgeries, including emergencies, are completed and the community’s health needs are met. Our service lines include Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Robotics, General, Colorectal, Urology, Transplant, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, ENT, Dental, Plastics, Hands, and Oral Maxillofacial. In total, we have 30 operating rooms, 2 of which are considered Hybrid rooms equipped to perform endovascular, robotic, and cardiothoracic surgeries. Our staff take pride in offering excellent care to our patients, as well as their families.The patient care assistant provides clinical patient care support in a caring, safe, and efficient manner, under the supervision and delegation of the Registered Nurse. In collaboration with patients and families (as defined by the patient) the patient care assistant is responsible for the care of the patient. The patient care assistant adheres to and is supportive of the hospital and the department of Nursing mission and philosophy.Delivers outstanding service to our internal and external customer by advocating for customers preferences; maximizing communication and partnering with peers and customers; acting to obtain feedback, problem solving and change; demonstrating zest through integrity, punctuality, appearance, and style.Area of focus:

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Completion of approved nursing assistant training and CNA certification.
