
Associate General Counsel - Employment Law

- Counseling clients daily on a broad spectrum of employment, student, faculty, and related issues, including labor relations
- Developing strategy for Emory employment and student-related litigation and regulatory issues, and managing those actions
- Managing other litigation and federal and state regulatory matters, and handling operational and transactional legal work on behalf of the Emory entities
- Developing new areas of sub-specialty as needs may arise
- Duties also may include participation on Emory Healthcare and University committees as the legal advisor
- Work well on a team
- Have outstanding negotiation and verbal and written communication skills
- Display high levels of emotional intelligence, including kindness, empathy, optimism, and self-awareness
- Approach work with a commitment to excellence, intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, and integrity
- Have excellent judgment, client counseling, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills
- Have a license to practice law in a U.S. state, and excellent academic credentials
- Have a minimum of five years of legal experience in the employment counseling and litigation field
- Preferably have in-house experience providing employment legal services
- Bonus points if your in-house experience includes a university environment
- More bonus points if you also have labor relations experience
