Urgent Care is ideal for pets who need to be seen by a veterinarian and their condition is not life-threatening and doesn’t require an overnight hospitalization. It’s similar to when you would choose a human urgent care over the emergency room.Responsibilities Included But Not Limited To
- Play an active role in the BoosterPet medical team to provide quality medical care, model BoosterPet’s core values
- Ability to complete physical exams, triage and complete vitals on behalf of our DVMs
- Be tech savvy
- Support BoosterPet urgent care services and wellness as needed
- Complete detailed medical records with through medical history. Ensure medical records are accurate within the practice management system
- Educate animal owners
- Liaising with veterinarians and veterinary assistants to ensure continuity of patient care
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure safety of pets, clients, and team members
- Administering medications and treatments prescribed by a veterinarian
- Obtains and verifies medications
- performing phlebotomy duties, and providing intramuscular (IM), intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SQ) injections
- Restrain pets in a manner that allows necessary work to be performed, minimizes stress to pets, and ensures the safety of pets and people
- Assist at front desk/kiosk and greet clients/patients upon entry
- Answer phones and make appointments as needed
- Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
- Administering first aid for emergencies
- Knowledge with the RECOVER guidelines
- Induce/monitor and recover anesthetic patients
- Complete regional anesthesia when needed
- Maintains safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing operating areas, verifying shelf life of medications, maintaining equipment and complying with legal regulations
- Train new employees on standards of operations
- Safely drive to various locations to support BoosterPet clinics as staffing needs arise
- Other duties as assigned by managers
