Our client is a private investment firm founded in 2001 that specializes in exclusive access to unique alternative investments. The ideal candidate will exhibit high standards, excellent communication skills, and trustworthiness, with a strong drive to succeed. PLEASE NOTE: This prestigious firm takes hiring seriously and is very methodical. They have a robust interview process that can take 2-4 weeks to complete, depending on how quickly the candidate completes each phase. However, the rewards will be substantial for the right candidate to join this firm. Our client, a prestigious Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a mid-level Real Estate Associate to join its Chicago office. This is a dynamic opportunity to work on a wide variety of complex real estate and real estate financing transactions particularly involving New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC)while collaborating closely with a highly respected national team. Key Responsibilities:Represent lenders, investors, developers, and property owners in the acquisition, disposition, development, leasing, and financing of real estate across all major asset classes, including office, industrial, retail, multifamily, mixed-use, and community facilitiesDraft and negotiate loan documents, purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, development and joint venture agreements, and operating agreementsManage all aspects of closings, including due diligence, title and survey review, zoning and land-use issues, and entity formationProvide guidance on tax credit transactions (particularly NMTC), as well as operational and asset management mattersMentor junior team members and oversee project deliverables to ensure timely, high-quality client service
Ideal Candidate Will Have:4 to 7 years (ONLY) of sophisticated real estate experience at a law firmStrong background in acquisitions, dispositions, financing (lender- and borrower-side), leasing, and development workExperience with tax credit transactions is highly valuedSuperior writing, analytical, and communication skillsA collaborative, client-focused mindset and the ability to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:J.D. and admission to the Illinois Bar, in good standingPrior law firm experience is required
