We are a Barry-Wehmiller company.Hours: 2:45 pm-12:45 am with a $2 an hour shift differential.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Startup and shut down machines as recommended by maintenance
  • Operate the machine in such a manner to meet Afinitas quality standards
  • Operate the machine in both a safe and productive manner
  • Perform required preventative maintenance
  • Read prints and complete miters meeting Afinitas standards
  • Setup and program saws for automatic cutting operations
  • All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Qualified operator for all three saws
  • Qualified to read prints and complete miters meeting Hawkeye standards
  • Qualified to setup and program all three saws for automatic cutting operations
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal/communication skills required
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Works in a plant/manufacturing environment that involves the use of industrial machinery and chemicals. Employees must be able to correctly wear and use any Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at the location.
Additional Job Description
  • Operates machine tools such as; lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, or special purpose equipment according to production specifications and needs.
  • Verifies conformance of machined work to specifications using measuring instruments such as; calipers, micrometers, and fixed or telescoping gauges.
  • Reads and interprets machining instructions, job orders, and blueprints to determine dimensional specifications, sequences of operations, setups, and tooling requirements.
  • Selects and sets cutting speeds, feed rates, depths of cuts, and cutting tools according to machining instructions or knowledge of metal properties.
  • Ensures safety operating procedures are followed throughout projects.
