- Evaluating problematic systems or facilities and determining what installation or repair services need to be performed
- Coordinating the Preventive Maintenance Program of guest rooms, public areas, and safety systems; working closely with the Rooms Division, Food & Beverage Departments and other departments.
- Read, develop, and improve SOP’s
- Participate in continual personal development
- Monitoring the Hotel's Energy Management system supervising and directing maintenance staff in the operation and maintenance of the mechanical and physical plant.
- Respond to Guest issues in a professional manner
- Investigate accidents and prepare relevant reports
- Evaluate each worker's performance to ensure quality operations
- Train staff to ensure individuals have all the requisite skills
- Ensure H&S policy and procedures of pursuit are followed by staff and contractors
- Oversee maintenance operations, supervising the work of maintenance staff and contractors
- Routinely inspect interior and exterior spaces and equipment
- Monitor a preventative maintenance program for the hotels and staff accommodation
- Assist People and Culture with inspections and follow up to maintenance challenges
- Follow up on items with team, using a tracking sheet to ensure completion
- Monitor and maintain building systems
- Building maintenance impacting tenants
- Perform routine equipment maintenance tasks, keep maintenance records and respond to emergencies
- Be available on an ‘on-call’ basis during off hours for emergency situations
- Assist and support the Director of Facilities in directing team workflow
- Knowledge of boilers, HVAC and building controls (Class 5 or 4 Power Engineer Ticket is an asset)
- Minimum 2 years in supervisory/leadership in hospitality sector
- Administrative skills
- Must be computer literate and familiarization with computerized maintenance systems is an asset.
- Highly organized, results oriented with the ability to be flexible, and to work well under pressure, strong level of initiative required.
- Full ability to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings and weekends
