- Set up and operate CNC lathe and milling machines to produce parts based on blueprints, drawings, or digital models.
- Program CNC machines using G-code and ensure programs are optimized for machine performance.
- Conduct test runs to ensure correct operation and quality standards.
- Monitor machine performance, adjust settings as needed, and troubleshoot issues that may arise.
- Operate manual lathes, mills, and other machine tools to cut, shape, and finish parts.
- Set up and calibrate equipment manually, ensuring precision and high standards are maintained throughout the production process.
- Perform tasks such as turning, drilling, boring, and tapping according to specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files to understand part specifications.
- Use measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.) to ensure parts meet required tolerances and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on machines to ensure longevity and precision.
- Conduct inspections of finished products to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
- Identify and resolve issues with parts, tools, or machinery that could affect production.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Adhere to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience working with CNC and manual lathe and milling machines.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and material properties.
- Proficiency in programming and operating CNC machines (Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, etc.).
- Experience with manual machining, including setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files.
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools, gauges, and instruments.
- Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational training or certifications in machining or related fields preferred.
