- Work in a safe manner and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Assisting the Shift Supervisor with setup of Work Centers/Assembly Areas by bringing all necessary hardware and packaging to the Work Centers/Assembly Areas prior to start up.
- To ensure efficiency at all Work Centers and Assembly areas by pulling completed product from work centers and move to pack & scan area where they can be properly banded and/or dispositioned in the warehouse.
- Ensuring proper labeling and scanning coming from Production prior to delivery to the Warehouse.
- Follow all processes and make recommendation for improvement.
- Review operation process to ensure continuous cost improvement.
- Interact with your counterpart working in the operations, to ensure all other positions (process engineer, material handler, operator, etc.) to ensure the efficient use of people during the manufacturing process.
- Lean Manufacturing. 5S and Workplace organization (standardized work centers) process.
- As a forklift driver this position is responsible for ensuring all items moved must be put in the proper location and square to the building.
- Assist with the maintenance of a clean and organized and safe work area.
- Maintain plant cleanliness. Ensure everything is in its proper location, square to the building, and take active role to resolve issues when encountered.
- Empty trash bin and ensure no recyclables are placed in trash at the end of each shift.
- Cycle counts inventory as requested by Warehouse Manager.
- Other tasks assigned by Supervisor
- Responsible for confirming correct parts specific packaging.
- Responsible for flagging any packaging issues that may cause damage to parts during shipping.
- Responsible for ensuring parts are not damaged during dispositioning, placement in WIP and/or preparation for shipping.
- Responsible for immediately notifying Production of any observed quality issues during disposition of finished goods and/or WIP.
- Stop shipments if the quantity is incorrect, packaging is incorrect or quality of product is suspect.
- Authority to stop all actions and notify their Supervisor if safety is in question.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience within a manufacturing environment operating a forklift, utilization of scanner equipment including handling of WIP, Finished Goods and shipping responsibilities.
- A self-starter with a history of showing initiative in getting things done and anticipating what needs to get done.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proven communicational skills, both written and oral.
- Demonstrated ability to push, pull, lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Ability to be trained and operate a forklift.
- Demonstrated experience with production part retrieval/lot number verification
- Experience with cycle counts/inventory
- History of accurately documenting (or scanning) WIP and Finished goods in/out of inventory.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
- Proven ability to work with others to accomplish goals
- Knowledge of basic mathematics and the ability to apply it in a work situation.
- Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs
