We help them shape their decarbonisation strategy, secure their energy needs, invest in future energy technologies, capture market opportunities to reach society's biggest goal.What you will be doing
- Business & Commercial Strategy - US market entry and establishment, commercial trading & hedging strategy, book structure & transfer pricing, US-based power and gas market modeling, asset modelling / valuation advisory for new acquisitions or development, transaction / M&A advisory
- Risk and Regulatory Advisory - risk management policies and frameworks, risk exposure assessment, commercial & regulatory due diligence, regulatory operating model design, transaction surveillance, regulatory reporting, financial crime compliance (i.e., KYC, AML), market / regulatory remediation
- Energy Transition Advisory - climate risk modeling, carbon / emissions measurement & reporting, decarbonization strategy development, transition planning and execution
- Trading Process & Technology Transformation - capability benchmarking and health checks, IT strategy & target architecture design, transformation roadmaps, system selection and implementation, logistics and supply chain digitization, project & program management
- Operational Capability Development - business process analysis & design, capability maturity modeling / assessments, operational readiness for new market entry or asset acquisition
- Organizational Transformation - organizational design, operating model development, and change management delivery
- Data & Analytics - data strategy and architecture, artificial intelligence, use case identification and discovery, enterprise automation and robotics, data governance, data/reporting platforms
- Energy Portfolio Optimization - portfolio optionality monetization, asset & contract flexibility evaluation, hedging & optimization models, asset optimization model design & development, risk analytics and model development
- Data & Analytics - data strategy and architecture, artificial intelligence, use case identification and discovery, data-driven insight generation, data/reporting platforms, data governance and capability build
Our Consultant position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience (Senior Consultant 4-7 years; Manager 6-8 years; Senior Manager 8-10 years) in a consulting or industry role, with experience in Commodity & Energy Trading initiatives.We are looking to hire motivated energy and commodity trading practitioners, ideally based in Houston or New York, who are passionate about helping clients to deliver their most complex and strategic transformations. We are interested in individuals who can bring delivery and business advisory experience and expertise in the following areas:
- Business and commercial strategy for power trading and generation businesses
- Functional expertise across the energy value chain with a focus on power and environmental products:
- Generation
- Asset management
- Wholesale & retail markets
- ISOs/RTOs
- Exchanges
- Power operations
- Optimization models
- Low carbon and environmental products
- Transmission & Distribution
- Capability assessment / target operating model design for power trading organizations - including analytics / forecasting, power trading, power scheduling (transmission, bookouts, bilaterals), position management, ISO bidding / submissions / awards, settlements (ISO, PPAs, transmission, exchange), REC management, and compliance reporting
- Market entry and readiness for asset and power trading businesses
- Carbon measurement / decarbonization & transition planning for organizations across the energy value chain
- Strong foundational knowledge of low carbon technologies such as batteries, hydrogen, solar, wind
- Risk and regulatory advisory (Dodd-Frank, FERC, ISO / RTOs)
- Trading business and IT transformation and change management
- Trading and data analytics architecture strategy and design (Bid-to-bill, optimization, and behind-the-meter aggregation solutions)
- Complex program / project delivery in power trading environments
- ETRM and ISO bid-to-bill design and client-side implementation advisory across the leading vendor platforms (e.g. OpenLink, Endur, Allegro, Adapt2, PowerOptix, PCI, etc)
