- Develop the Maintenance Program: Design and implement Encore’s first comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance framework for a fleet that is expected to grow to over 200 Prevost motorcoaches in the near future.
- Focus on Mechanical Systems: Create maintenance strategies for Volvo D13 engines, driveline, braking, steering, suspension, generators, and other critical subsystems of the coach.
- Improve Reliability & Reduce Costs: Identify parts and components with longer lifespans, reduce breakdowns, minimize downtime, and prevent costly emergency repairs.
- Analyze Real-World Data: Gather and interpret field reports from road technicians, manufacturer specifications, and industry insights to uncover failure patterns and prevent recurring issues.
- Design Clear Maintenance Plans: Translate complex technical information into structured schedules, service intervals, and task lists that can be executed consistently across the fleet.
- Lead and Manage Road Technicians: Oversee the team of technicians who troubleshoot and repair vehicles on the road, ensuring their insights directly strengthen the maintenance program.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with shop mechanics, parts managers, and leadership to ensure maintenance strategies fit daily operational realities.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Regularly review performance results, refine intervals, and adopt new practices and parts that enhance reliability year after year.
- Document and Report: Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, reliability metrics, and program improvements for leadership visibility.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience developing preventive or predictive maintenance programs for transportation vehicles such as buses, trucks, or heavy fleet equipment.
- Proven ability to develop maintenance strategies for engines, driveline, braking, suspension, and generator systems — including service intervals, failure prevention, and component life extension across multiple manufacturers.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing technical data, manufacturer specifications, and field failure reports to identify root causes and translate them into actionable maintenance improvements.
- Hands-on experience diagnosing and troubleshooting vehicle systems directly, with the ability to validate solutions alongside technicians in the field.
- Experience using 3D modeling tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD to interpret engineering drawings, build assemblies, and support development of structured maintenance plans.
- History of managing and developing technicians, engineers, or maintenance staff, ensuring team input is incorporated into fleet-wide reliability programs.
- Track record of building maintenance frameworks or systems from the ground up, with measurable outcomes such as reduced downtime, lower repair costs, or extended equipment life.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card holder) and located in or willing to relocate to the Nashville, TN area.
- Direct experience working with Prevost motorcoaches, or with comparable bus, trucking, or heavy equipment fleets where long-term vehicle reliability is mission-critical.
- Formal application of advanced reliability engineering tools such as FMEA, RCA, or RCM, with documented improvements in fleet performance.
- Experience embedding preventive maintenance programs into fleet management software, ERP systems, or other digital platforms for tracking, reporting, and optimization.
- Proven ability to evaluate and recommend upgraded parts or components that extend service life, reduce failure rates, and lower lifecycle costs.
- Demonstrated success in scaling reliability programs as fleets grow, while balancing immediate operational demands with long-term strategic planning.
