Our client is seeking an experienced part-time (16-20/hr. per week) Project Manager who will be responsible for the planning and coordination of strategic IT projects that are at various phases of the project lifecycle. This person will be an integral part of a small cross-functional project team and will collaborate with the executive level, IT Directors, and technical teams to identify opportunities, coordinate to execute objectives and deliver solutions leveraging project management best practices. This PM will be considered a “go to” resource for Project Management, working in a manufacturing environment that is new to formal IT Project Management. This role will require you to be on-site for at 1 day per week in the clients Cary, NC office to interact with stakeholders. The rest of the work can be done remotely.Primary Duties:
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resources, risk and issues to ensure maximum business benefit is maintained as well as providing regular project status updates
  • Work with cross functional stakeholders across the business, such as other Project Managers, Subject Matter Experts, Senior Leadership and the Executive Team to ensure quality and timely delivery of projects
  • Leverage strong project management background and understanding of tasks required to deliver various IT projects and initiatives
  • Articulate business concepts and business details, as well as possess a working understanding of the inter-dependencies between project tasks
  • Develop detailed project plans and ensure the scope and approach are fully understood by all stakeholders
  • Assemble project plans, ensure all systems of record for project reporting are kept current, and direct and monitor work effort on a regular basis
  • Identify and track key project milestones and measurement reporting (base-lining, critical path)
  • Monitor and communicate the progress of project delivery and ensure timely and effective communication of project status in terms of cost, forecast, schedule and assessment of risks/issues
  • Negotiate and influence cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate resourcing levels are engaged and maintained throughout the course of the project life cycle
  • Ability to develop a change leadership strategy based on situational awareness of changes and the groups impacted to keep members and stakeholders informed and engaged
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
Qualifications:Required Skills/Experience:
  • B.S. or B.A
  • 5+ years of Project/Program Management experience in a highly virtualized technology environment
  • Heightened sense of urgency and resolve; ability to act as a change agent
  • Project Management tool proficiency and best practices
  • Experienced in managing vendor evaluations, tool selection, and leading RFP/RFI processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and report multiple initiatives concurrently
  • Demonstrated experience with large and small projects
  • Strong communication skill set
Desired Skills/Experience:Education and Certifications:
  • Project Management Certification
  • Proven experience within a manufacturing environment and manufacturing ERP systems, such as Acumatica.
  • Experience working with an organization with an emerging technology stack
