- Program and debug structured text and ladder logic code on multiple PLC controller platforms (Siemens TIA Portal and Omron Sysmac Studio)
- Create intuitive operator touchscreen interfaces using Siemens WinCC/Proface/Weintek EasyBuilder and SCADA dashboards screens using Ignition
- Create robust programs and sequences to control complex, multi-station machinery to perform processes such as material pick and place, dispense, roll to roll, welding, testing and material transport
- Set up and tune servo drives and VFDs for fast and smooth operation
- Participate in initial equipment conceptual development and carefully balance product specifications, process requirements, layout complexity, cost, and lead-time limits
- Design and implement control reliable safety systems for safeguarding robots, gantries, conveyors, and other high-volume manufacturing equipment as per codes and standards
- Manage electrical cabinet builds, field wiring, pneumatic and fluid plumbing
- Manage suppliers during specification, design, buyoff and installation of automated manufacturing equipment
- Develop & maintain proper documentation of all electrical equipment and associated procedures, making updates as required
- AS or BS degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent - Majors in: Automation engineering, Controls and Computer Control Systems, Computer Science, Mechatronic Engineering)
- Strong/heavy experience with Robotics is mandatory
- Understanding of robotics and commissioning - robots, tuning, programing
- Electrical and safety experience is preferred
- Siemens/Omron PLC experience preferred but open to all PLCs - Tesla uses Siemens and Omron
- Hardware expertise - working with machines or system integrators
- Controls Systems knowledge - Ability to build systems from scratch or enhancing existing ones
- Experience working in large manufacturing factories - SAT (Site Acceptance Test) preferred - real operational environment, after installation experience
