- Assists the teacher with classroom tasks and management, such as correcting, tutoring, clerical work, or supervising students.
- Communicates and establishes positive relationships with parents, staff, public and especially our amazing students.
- Recognizes and responds to student's personal, educational, and/or social needs.
- Becomes familiar with teacher expectations of students and facilitates desirable individual and group behavior and performance.
- Organizes, directs, observes and maintains orderly and safe playground activities.
- Reports any unusual circumstances, unauthorized visitors, unsafe conditions or students who misbehave or violate playground rules.
- Takes appropriate action in the event of a school emergency.
- Assists in the orientation of substitute aides.
- Coordinates with the Teacher to provide extra support and tutoring to individual students as needed.
- Assists with classroom management to maintain an orderly learning environment.
- May include before or after school playground, transportation, crossing guard hall monitor and/or lunchroom duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Ability to obtain and maintain first aid certification upon employment.
- Ability to maintain effective professional relationships with staff, students, and parents.

- High school education or equivalent.
- Take and Pass Highly Qualified Test prior to employment*; OR
- Have taken a minimum of 60 credits college coursework; OR
- Have earned an Associate degree.
- Experience with students in an educational setting.
- The ability to look cool wearing a super hero cape!
- Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time, stoop, bend, lift, and may occasionally carry items up to 40 pounds.
- This is a Medium Duty job, according to the Selected Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles, U.S. Department of Labor and Industry. Medium Duty involves exertion of 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds continuously to move objects.
