Duration: 12 MonthsPosition OverviewWe are seeking an Information Systems Architect – Advanced to lead the planning, design, development, and implementation of IT system architectures that support enterprise-level healthcare technologies. This role requires deep expertise in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, security, and enterprise-level IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on Nextgen Healthcare applications.ResponsibilitiesLead the planning and evolution of enterprise Health IT and EHR system architectures.Collaborate with executive leadership to create and align technology strategies with organizational goals.Develop and maintain the IT strategic roadmap and security architecture.Ensure compliance with state-level standards and applicable security frameworks.Provide clear communication of technology and security topics to executive leadership.Evaluate, recommend, and assist in the selection of vendors, products, and technologies.Establish policies, processes, and control methods to ensure alignment with IT strategic direction.Provide leadership in governance activities including system development lifecycle, change control, and compliance processes.Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies that support organizational objectives.Daily ResponsibilitiesSupport implementation and ongoing operations of electronic health records and related healthcare technologies.Assist in EHR system implementation including build, testing, training, and go-live activities.Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to implement interfaces between EHR and external systems (e.g., offender management, lab systems, PACs, pharmacy).Establish and manage reporting requirements; develop reports from the Nextgen database.Coordinate with external healthcare providers on participation in health information exchanges.Work with medical and mental health staff to optimize processes through technology.Recommend and evaluate IT equipment for purchase or lease.Provide regular progress and status reports to management.Required Skills & Qualifications10+ years experience with Electronic Health Records.5+ years experience with Nextgen EHR, PM, and EDR.Nextgen Certification required.Proficiency with Nextgen Healthcare’s Template Editor (customized templates).Knowledge of HIPAA, ICD-9/ICD-10, healthcare data interface standards, and health information exchange technologies.Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and lead technical initiatives.Education & CertificationBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).Nextgen Certification required.Preferred SkillsExperience with HL7 and SQL.Knowledge of Crystal Reports, eMAR, Mirth, PACs, CIPS/Fusion, Merge.Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies.
