- Prepares and/or supervises the preparation of parenteral medications.
- Fills and/or checks unit dose carts.
- Fills and/or supervises the preparation of newly ordered medications.
- Assists the Director of Pharmacy in coordinating and implementing the activities of the Pharmacy.
- Supervises the technical support staff.
- Assists with clinical, quality management, and education programs. Consults with and advises medical and nursing staffs on matters related to drugs and drug products; documents the outcomes of the consultations of the Intervention Log.
- Maintains and reviews patient medication profiles and ensures confidentiality of patient information.
- Provides drug information to healthcare professionals and patients.
- Monitors profile for drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, and appropriate drug therapy and duration.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to walk, stand, and work for extended periods of time without relief.
- Must possess dexterity of arms, hands, and fingers bilaterally.
- Must be able to work with hands for up to 12 hours a day.
- Must be able to push/pull carts weighing up to 200 pounds.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so the requirements of this position can be fully met.
