Job Description Summary The ODA Lean Transactional Leader of Audits and Oversight will serve as a supporting staff member to the GE ODA Lead Administrator and will gain knowledge and command of ODA processes through a series of learning opportunities with a primary focus in leading lean strategy and driving initiates to continuously improve the effectiveness of self-audit and internal oversight processes above and beyond regulatory requirements. Experience gained in process improvement, operational support and audit/oversight activities will provide a solid foundation for further growth in the ODA as an appointed Deputy Administrator of TC/PC Functions; the requirements, roles, and responsibilities of an ODA Deputy Administrator are defined in FAA Orders 8100.15 and implemented in the GE ODA Procedures Manual.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
  • Perform, participate in, or directly oversee ODA Unit audit responsibilities to comply with FAA Order 8100.15 and ODA Procedures Manual requirements, with a focus on learning the processes to support process improvement activity.
  • Participate in and become familiar ODA Unit records administration functions to comply with FAA Order 8100.15 and ODA Procedures Manual requirements (Unit, Unit Member, Reporting, Training, Appointments processing, digital portal management) with a focus on learning the processes to support process improvement activity.
  • Lead lean process improvements to define standard work for items listed above resulting in ODA Procedures Manual changes and related process change implementation (includes automation, digital tool enhancements or development)
  • Alert the Lead and Deputy administrators to any issues requiring conflict resolution
  • Coordinate with the Deputy administrators for FUNCTIONS as needed
  • Perform other tasks as delegated by the GE ODA Lead Administrator
  • Active contributor to a business culture which promotes, safety, quality, and compliance. Advocates for the value of the ODA and the integrity of its Unit Members, today and in the future.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Quality organization or audit role; must include various levels of quality and/or auditing responsibilities
  • Management (project, program or supervisory) experience in one or more technical disciplines. An Engineering Controlled Title of Senior Engineer or higher may be used as evidence of project or program management experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Desired Characteristics
  • In-depth knowledge of all Federal Aviation Regulations applicable to production certificate and type certification of turbine engines, particularly Part 21 and 33 airworthiness standards and FAA orders / guidance material pertaining to quality, certification, and continued airworthiness
  • Demonstrated in-depth experience as an ODA RCI or FAA-DMIR or FAA-DAR activities for a commercial engine or aircraft programs with the FAA
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership skill, ability to influence indirectly.
  • Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects, with established project management skills.
  • Familiar with concepts in LEAN conversion.
