STAT MedEvac is looking to hire a Full-Time Outreach Coordinator I / EMS Specialist.Schedule:
  • Monday-Friday
  • 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Purpose:The STAT MedEvac Office of Business Relations and Development Coordinator is responsible for enhancing easy access to the system through relationship management with referral sources and other health care providers. This includes assisting the Office of Business Relations and Development Manager, in the implementation of plans and tools to educate the health care community about the STAT MedEvac system. The individual will actively participate in problem identification and resolution.The EMS Specialist as part of the UPMC Prehospital Care team is responsible for EMS outreach, coordination of continuing education programs, and coordination of medical direction activities. The EMS Coordinator is also responsible for assisting the Senior Manager of Prehospital Care with developing the strategic business plan in the geographic encatchment area of UPMC Northern Tier.Responsibilities:
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
  • Represent UPMC/Stat MedEvac at various EMS events.
  • Provide patient follow-ups to EMS providers in compliance with HIPPA regulations.
  • Coordinate oversight of the supply and medication reconciliation program in strict compliance with OIG and CMS rules and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the different hospital services lines as necessary.
  • Coordinate various EMS education programs in the UPMC/Stat MedEvac service area.
  • Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with local EMS agencies, civil emergency services, county, regional and state agencies.
  • Assist in coordination of quality assurance programs for EMS command services.
  • Assist Service Medical Directors as necessary.
  • Participate in special project development as designated by the Office of Business Relations and Development Manager and Administration.
  • Assist the Office of Business Relations and Development Manager and Administration in the review and resolution of situations arising from day-to-day operations within the system, as they pertain to marketing of STAT MedEvac.
  • Record all expenditures and forward reports of such to the Office of Business Relations and Development Manager.
  • Document the outcome of site visits and sales calls and report results to the Office of Business Relations and Development Manager.
  • Perform sales oriented calls on prehospital and interhospital personnel and agencies as directed.
  • Implement other programs to educate the health care community and public about UPMC/STAT MedEvac as a need is identified by the Office of Business Relations and Development Manager and Senior Manager of Pre-Hospital Care.
  • Initiate, schedule, coordinate, and conduct site visits for public safety customers and hospitals.
  • Maintain open communications with the Office of Business Relations and Development Leadership, Administration and Senior Manager of Pre-Hospital Care to ensure appropriate information flow and resolution of issues.
  • Work and communicate effectively.
  • Maintain a cooperative or team-oriented working relationship with co-workers.
  • Maintain a professional and neat appearance while on duty and representing UPMC/STAT MedEvac during other functions.
  • Utilize proper channels for improvement of the system.
  • Representative of the UPMC/STAT MedEvac system and shall support and uphold the mission, goals, and objectives of the system at all times.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Baccalaureate degree preferred.
  • Emergency Medical Technician OR Paramedic OR National Registry Paramedic OR Registered Nurse with three years of clinical experience and/or emergency dispatching experience, or other equivalent clinical experience/certification required.
  • Previous sales and marketing experience (1 year) preferred.
  • Experience in air/ground transport systems preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills including the ability to use word processing, computer database and spreadsheet software.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) OR Paramedic OR Registered Nurse (RN)
*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.
