The territory is Eastern South Dakota to Eastern Wisconsin - This is a remote role, but you must live within the territory.Position Summary:
The Regional Product Manager role is for an experienced candidate interested in key account management, market intel collection, and new account generation. This team member will focus specifically on customers in Minnesota/Wisconsin/the Dakotas and should reside within that region. Our RPM will merchandise a variety of products including wet gluten feed, steepwater, corn protein feed pellets, corn germ meal, wheat midds, and corn protein meal. The position is fully remote to allow for frequent in-person meetings with customers (feedlots, dairies, feed mills, swine integrators, etc) as well as their nutritionists. A successful candidate will increase market awareness for ADM's co-products, have excellent price discovery skills, and ultimately increase the value of ADM's co-products. The RPM will join an established, collaborative team with resources including an on-staff nutritionist, customer service representatives, and logistics support.Daily responsibilities include:
  • Manage an established list of accounts, from initial inquiry to delivery, as well as ongoing service after the sale.
  • Responsible for closing deals and achieving customer satisfaction all while receiving the highest price possible.
  • Actively prospect and call new potential customers.
  • Sell within a core portfolio of products while also promoting ADM's full range of products and service capabilities.
  • Manage accounts receivable and contract balances for given accounts.
  • Leverage internal relationships, networks, and other ADM divisions to cross sell accounts and showcase ADM's value.
  • Identify and report on trending areas of interest to product management.
  • Develop a clear understanding of the product offerings and how ADM can best service the markets identified.
  • Share relevant market information with other members of the sales team.
  • The appointed candidate will be expected to work closely and in a professional manner with the Sales Team, Commercial Management, Technical Services, Credit and Customer Services to meet customer needs and business goals.
  • Understand and operate within NGFA trade rules.
Job Requirements:
  • 5 or more years of experience in feed/grain merchandising, animal nutrition, or general agriculture.
  • Bachelor degree in business or science-related field.
  • Ability to build long-term, sustainable business to business relationships with both internal and external partners.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to operate with little day to day supervision while delivering strong results.
  • Experience with animal nutrition will be considered a plus.
  • Hands-on livestock experience will be considered a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential in order to develop relationship with customers.
  • Outgoing personality with a demonstrated eagerness to assist customers via phone, web and trade shows.
  • Ability to operate as a team player and work well with others.
  • This position requires superior organizational, planning and follow-up skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required.
