Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.The purpose of this position is:
  • This is an entry-level position in the Wastewater Treatment Department.
  • Manufacturing Associate I’s in this role are responsible for learning and executing processes to ensure soft water and DI water are maintained as well as ensuring wastewater discharges comply with the facility’s current Industrial User Wastewater Discharge Permit.
  • Processes to learn include housekeeping, water testing, hazardous waste labeling and disposal procedures, and how to treat water properly chemically prior to discharge to the city.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Inspecting and maintaining equipment, tanks, and other work areas.
  • General housekeeping, including sweeping and mopping.
  • Collecting and testing water samples, using test equipment and color analysis standards.
  • Adding chemical to treat water metal levels.
  • Monitoring operating conditions, meters, and gauges.
  • Operating and adjusting controls on equipment to purify and clarify process water.
  • Collect hazardous waste from other departments and properly label and maintain site accumulation storage areas.
  • Maintain chemical storage area.
  • Successful completion of required safety and environmental courses assigned.
  • Successful completion of forklift training program and maintaining license.
  • Associates should proactively report any part, process, or equipment issues as soon as they become aware.
  • Comply with all environmental, safety, and health policies and practices.

Working Conditions:
  • Hot summer temperatures (100°+) and cold winter temperatures (35°F). Exposure to these temperatures is intermittent.
  • Environment has constant noise.
Physical Demands:
  • Occasional exerting of 50-100 pounds of force.
  • Must be able to occasionally climb stairs and portable ladders.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Constant standing/walking.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional squatting and stooping
Education/Experience:
  • High School or General Education Diploma required
  • Similar experience preferred but not required

Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
