- Provide updates to include review, update, and development of Tactical Memorandum (TACMEMO), Tactical Bulletins (TACBUL), Tactical Notes (TACNOTE), Tactical Advisory Messages (TAMs) and Fleet Advisory Messages (FAMs).
- Review, update, and, when required, provide input on Joint Publications (JPs), Navy Warfare Publications (NWPs), and Navy Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (NTTP), Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Concept of Employment (CONEMP), and other Requirement documents in accordance with listed references; to include Navy Tactical Reference Publications (NTRP) in accordance with listed references.
- Monitor the progress of publication projects through all phases of publication (as applicable) including: Front End Analysis (FEA), content creation, editing, approval, and distribution in the publication project database.
- Research information from ships' battle bills, naval messages, combat system/equipment configuration manuals, validated and approved tactics, as well as data provided by technical specialists and validated fleet review comments to ensure they are compliant with existing directives and are consistent and clear.
- Write and/or edit each publication that is presented for review/update for its intended audience, including rewriting text to ensure tactical/technical information is clear, correct, and succinct, and classification markings are in accordance with prescribed guidelines, ensuring the author's meaning and intent are preserved while following writing and editorial policies, practices, and procedures established by the N5 Directorate, and NRTP 1-01.
- Provide recommendations on the most effective method of presentation (e.g., figures, tables, and listings) as part of the review/editing process.
- Use your knowledge and experience in the applicable warfare area to develop and clarify content with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), to include Warfare Tactics Instructors (WTIs), and other stakeholders as appropriate.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently without sponsorship.
- An Active Secret Clearance with TS/SCI eligibility.
- A Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or related field.
- A Minimum of (5) years of recent experience developing high quality graphics for presentations.
- A Minimum of (5) years of recent proficiency with Adobe software such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, and Premiere or equivalent computer programs.
- A Minimum of (5) years of recent experience, either teaching or developing BMD or IAMD related doctrine or tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems.
