- Line responsibility for the performance of clinical analysis s in the Department of Laboratories.
- Perform routine instrument maintenance and troubleshooting as assigned according to established protocols to ensure proper instrument performance.
- Adhere to all quality control policies and procedures.
- Proficient in computer protocols as assigned.
- Adhere to all SBUH and departmental policies and protocols.
- Perform high complexity coagulation/chemistry testing using both manual and automated methods.
- Perform assays consisting of multiple dilutions requiring impeccable technique.
- Assist in implementing and validating new procedures.
- Actively engage in continuing education in order to enhance the department, including a willingness to attend conferences and offsite training whenever possible.
- Interact in a professional manner with nursing staff, physicians, support staff, peers and other members of the hospital community.
- Perform other clinical duties as assigned.
- Incumbent will be required to work every other weekend. Pass days and holidays as assigned.
SL-2: NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or documented eligibility including provisional/limited permit eligibility with 3-5 years of demonstrated relevant experience.SL-3: NYS licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or documented eligibility, including provisional/limited permit eligibility with a minimum 6 years demonstrated relevant experience.Preferred:Generalist with a strong background in Hematology and Chemistry. ASCP Certification. Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Biological or Life Sciences.
