
Union Rochester MI Boiler Operator

- Operates, maintains and repairs building automation system equipment, including absorbers, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers and air handling units.
- Takes readings on all equipment, powerhouse, all mechanical areas. Lists readings daily on the Boiler Report Sheet.
- Prepares boilers for seasonal inspection.
- Repairs and overhaul all steam equipment, valves and motors.
- Performs preventative maintenance duties according to schedule.
- Operates and maintains high pressure (120 PSI) steam boilers and related equipment.
- Regenerates water softener, refills brine tank with salt packs, pumps and valves, blows down boilers, performs boiler water treatment, and performs water analysis.
- Operates and maintains Generator and Fire Alarm Systems and records findings.
- Performs maintenance and repairs on building systems, including piping, electrical and repairs as necessary.
- Monitor elevators for proper operation, contact service when needed.

- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
- High School diploma -required.
- Current City of Detroit High Pressure Boiler Operator License, or equivalent at time of hire/transfer date -required.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturers specifications.
- Must be familiar with building maintenance techniques.
- Knowledge of safety codes and practices.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
