
HVAC Controls Technician I

- Provide responsive and professional customer service with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships
- Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems
- Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customers
- Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming
- Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians
- Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects
- Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications
- Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
- Interact and train customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call and explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
- Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
- Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures
- Factory Certified Training, Online Training Courses, or other professional on the job training in the Building Automation and HVAC Industry

- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical training and 0-2 years of equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
- Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
- Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- Experience in BAS, HVAC, or related industry
- Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools
- Competency in operation of engineering/commissioning tools, DDC controllers and field devices, BACnet protocol fundamentals
- Competency in the operation of HVAC equipment and controls
- Ability to read low voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams
- Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification
- Experience with any common integration protocols such as: BACnet MST / IP, LON, Modbus TCP / RTU, Ethernet OIP, MQTT, or SQL
- Strong computer skills, including computer networking fundamentals
- OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding process)
- Current first aid / CPR card
