Program Engineer, Design & Construction for Mergers & Acquisitions (MADO), Corporate Real Estate & Workplace Services (CREWS)Description -As a MADO Program Engineer for CREWS Design and Construction, you will apply your real estate technical, communications, design and engineering, leadership and influencing skills to develop and implement plans to successfully integrate new businesses and staff into the HP’s work environment, globally. This person reports to the Director overseeing global Portfolio Planning, Design and Construction.Responsibilities and Characteristics· Engage with the Corporate Development team, the Integration Management Office and CREWS’ partners to identify opportunities and develop real estate design and engineering requirements related to Mergers, Acquisitions, Divestitures and Outsourcing or MADO initiatives.· Ability to quickly assess, design and provide approaches by engineering and program managing which meet business end-state needs to include high level scope, costs, schedules, risks and delivery methodology across the most countries.· Develop and maintain master schedule of activities, engagements, and deliverables then convey these in a simplified manner to senior executives, the IMO and partner functions/business unit leaders.· Establish and lead engagements with CREWS teams and partner organizations to ensure clear understanding of requirements and to ensure progress-to-plan.· Identify technical risks to execution; establish and direct remediation plans as necessary.· Develop, implement, and oversee metrics, dashboards, and management reports as may be required.· Review and revise procedures and playbooks to improve MADO related capabilities within CREWS.· Lead and oversee the design, construction and execution of complex, large-scale real estate integration efforts for all corporate asset types. Knowledge of building systems is important; operation knowledge only likely won’t enough to be successful in this role.· Guide real estate-related technical due diligence in support MADO initiatives and advises deal teams as to real estate engineering, design & construction considerations, risks and opportunities.· Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and criteria for achieving objectives while applying innovative principles and ideas. Fulfills the role of functional manager within CREWS but does not manage other employees as a primary job function; however, leads colleagues and contractors in the conduct of duties.· Ensures the needs of the business are understood, coordinating with other functions, then interprets complex analyses, exercising independent judgment and integrating the needs to present, propose and recommend approaches and solutions to senior management.Qualifications· Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Real Estate; Master’s degree preferred· 10+ years of corporate real estate experience: 5+ years in a real estate construction. International portfolio or portfolio planning role is helpful· Must be comfortable with ambiguity and be capable of working with limited guidance· Must be able to develop high level project parameters—scope, cost, schedule—with limited information, ability to refine the project program sufficiently for execution.· Mastery of English required along with excellent written and verbal communications, expert storytelling, ability to synthesis the complex, decide and act.· Keen awareness of cultural differences and considerations when dealing with geographically distributed organizations. Large country or regional responsibilities required, global experience desired.· Ability to effectively synthesize complex topics into salient points, identifying and prioritizing risks and opportunities according to objectives and implications.· Strong relationship management skills: highly collaborative nature with ability to interact and influence across an organization and with all levels.· Ability to work globally, on short notice and periodically on weekends or holidays for urgent matters.· Requires inspection of areas under construction; ability to move under low objects, over parapet walls, onto and across scaffolding or lifts, movement through low water and climb over obstacles.Knowledge & Skills· Superior communication, negotiation, selling, and influencing skills; excellent relationship management.· Expert computer and analytical skills for program typically used in real estate.· Superior content knowledge of global Real Estate industry.· Approachable, available, focused, present, collaborative, listen with empathy, complete actions within time and cost constraints.· Able to “Create the Formula” and ask better questions to understand a situation, create the approach and options, and tell the story of how success is achieved, then execute on it once approved.· Proven ability to engage your colleagues to support their creation of plans to enable the site strategy while interacting in a courteous while conveying ideas in a concise and simple manner.· Must anticipate what must be accomplished with buffer for changing circumstances, needs and business dynamics.· Ensure the engineering and analysis is compete, accurate and supports your recommendation.· Maintain a cooperative, humble yet knowledgeable approach to support colleagues in their success.· Seeks clarity and understanding of motivations and requirements to build a strong relationship with vendors, contractors, colleagues and customers.Disclaimer
