Locations: Valhalla, NY & Mamaroneck, NYHours: M-F, 8:30 AM – 4.30 PMThe Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Westchester Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Family Planning Medical Assistant to join our Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery & Complex Family Planning. This is an employed position with comprehensive benefits.We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about providing all aspects of reproductive healthcare, including abortion care.Job Responsibilities
Clinical functions such as patient rooming, intake, vital signs, venipuncture, medical charting, assisting clinicians during exams and procedures
In coordination with licensed staff, provides patient follow-up on lab results and referrals
Provides pregnancy testing, information and referral, schedules patients for follow-up appointments
Basic office functions such as stocking supplies, billing and coding, routine insurance data entry
Cleaning and maintaining medical equipment and supplies, including sterilization of reusable materials
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Medical Assistant Certification
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to embrace a fast-paced and dynamic environment where daily responsibilities could change frequently
Experience with electronic medical record system (Cerner preferred but not required)
Experience in obstetrics & gynecology clinical setting
Experience in abortion clinic or other setting in which contraception and abortion services are provided is preferred but not required
Bilingual English / Spanish preferred but not required as long as willing to use telephone interpreter
