Manages assigned staff in accordance with established personnel management policies including Equal Employment Opportunity, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, security, sanitation, and other environmental issues. Plan and organize subordinates work and determine quality and quantity of production. Adjust work schedules to meet planned and unforeseen requirements. Supervise and administer leave, time keeping and personnel reporting requirements of subordinates.Assist Supervisor by leading and directing subordinates, answering questions, passing on instructions, resolving problems that arise, training new employees, and ensuring smooth flow of operations. Coordinates billeting and housekeeping requirements for incoming and outgoing guests. Coordinates with counterparts in the local hotel/motel industry to arrange space at a reasonable rate for patrons when space is not available at the Miramar Inn.Assists management in creating new initiatives that increase occupancy rate, deliver quality guest service, and maintain the required level of profitability. Establish position descriptions and performance standards for subordinates and conduct employee evaluations and counseling.Accepts reservations, registers guests, assigns rooms, issues keys, calculates and posts all charges to guests' account, presents statement, collects payments, maintains records, manually and/or on a Personal Computer.Responsible for change fund. Answers telephone and operates telephone system. Relays messages to guests. Receives, sorts, and distributes mail. Advises manager of any maintenance or guest problems. Calls emergency maintenance if warranted.Maintains a complete and systematic set of records relating to customer service transactions. Checks to ensure the periodic procurement of supplies and equipment required for an efficient operation.Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

EVALUATIONS:QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. Two years of work experience performing duties that indicate the ability to satisfactorily perform the above job duties. This type of experience may be gained by performing duties in the related functional field of hotel management such as those involving Hotel Customer Service, Executive Housekeeping or Front Desk functions. Ability to identify and resolve problem areas and recommend or execute solutions. Ability to use a computer for word processing or data entry. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required. Supervisory experience preferred.This activity is a Drug-free workplace.
