Job Classification: Technology - Engineering & CloudThe PGIM Real Estate Information Technology team is seeking a full-time Technical Product Owner who will work with a high performance and diverse team that supports the PGIM Real Estate financial and property management, asset management, portfolio management businesses and applications globally. The Technical Product Owner role will work alongside the Chief Product Owner, Asset Data Manager, and Information Systems teams to build an Asset Data platform.What you will do:The Director, Technical Product Owner will provide coordination on complex systems enhancement projects, while utilizing skills that require an understanding of sophisticated business processes and requirements. The Product Owner will work to streamline/automate processes, with a significant amount of independent authority and judgment, while providing direction to other professional staff on the Information Systems team responsible for business systems analysis and the advancement of technical solutions. This individual will provide highly technical consultative leadership as they identify and implement innovative uses of information technologies which assist the functional business units to meet their strategic objectives.What you can expect:Discovery / Design
  • Drive the user needs/recommendations/requirements discovery-design process.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders/subject matter experts to evaluate, define and prioritize business requirements.
  • Provide and assist direction, review, and feedback to UI/UX design team on mockups and wireframes.
  • Document design decisions and obtain user agreement on final designs.
Technical
  • Perform business/system analysis and system design to create detailed programming specifications and to resolve issues in an Agile environment.
  • Consult with various business departments to identify areas for the advancementof technical solutions to automate and/or improve business processes.
  • Partner with engineering/developer teams during the development cycle to provide overview of business requirements, answer questions and make engineering process as efficient as possible.
Backlog Refinement, Agile & Sprint Execution
  • Author user stories and lead design reviews and refinements that meet “Definition of Ready”.
  • Develop and monitor product budgets and resources; collaborate with clients to define the scope of product and related projects for the product, review activities, recommendations, and outcomes.
  • Apply agile methodologies to guide the development process fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Able to coach less experienced Product Owners/Business Analysts on Agile techniques, tools, and frameworks.
Delivery and Communication
  • Providing updates on status, timelines, and problems; reviewing final outcomes with the client and obtaining their sign off that work is in accordance with client requirements.
  • Negotiation skills (trade-off analysis, psychology, etc.) - “Selling” the business on iterative development and minimum viable product concepts; not giving into requests for “gold-plating” or “over-engineering”.
Testing and Change Management Leadership
  • Lead and support the UAT testing cycles and events.
  • Support the business in completing UAT prep (e.g., test scenarios) and execution.
  • Support SME testers during UAT, answering questions and providing testing guidance.
  • Manage UAT feedback including logging defects and high priority enhancements.
  • Document, test, implement, and provide ongoing support for the software applications used by PGIM Real Estate.
What you will bring:
  • 7 - 10 years business information systems experience, required; preferably with a broad background in different business functional areas (e.g., technology product ownership, business analysis, product management, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, etc.)
  • Strong Communication Skills: Conducting meetings, workshops and presentations to business and management for sharing insights, plans and ideas.
  • Tenacious leadership skills, with the ability to empower and guide teams toward common goals.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Sophisticated principles and practices of product and project management and workflow analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of agile frameworks and methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.).
  • Use of design tools such as Figma or Adobe XD to create wireframes for presentations and mock-ups.
  • Proficient in using project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar.
  • Customer-centric approach, ensuring products meet and exceed user expectations.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Commercial Real Estate experience and/or private equity experience is a plus.

The salary range for this role is from $150,000 to $165,000.
