See bonus information below. In addition, this position comes with a comprehensive Benefit package. See Benefit information below.Starting Rate: $17 per hourAfter 6 Months: Increases to $18 per hour (if in good standing)Bonuses (depends on driving status & program needs):$2,000 annually upon completion and passing of AHRC Defensive Driving class$2,000 annually upon completion of AMAP trainingFull-time Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm.Part-time schedule: Monday -Friday 8:30am -2:30pm.Why become an AHRC NYC DSP!

Responsibilities:
  • Support individuals with disabilities in leading self-directed lives and becoming active members of their communities.
  • The oversight of all safety and health considerations
  • Promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies
  • Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
Qualifications
  • Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same.
  • Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
  • Reasonable flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
