The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily sanitation operations within our frozen food production facility. This role ensures that all areas, equipment, and processes meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and food safety guidelines. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and experience in food manufacturing sanitation.Position Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the sanitation team (6-8 employees) to ensure all cleaning and sanitizing tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.
- Implement, and maintain sanitation procedures and schedules to comply with FDA, USDA, and company standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of production areas, equipment, and storage facilities to ensure cleanliness and safety.
- Train and mentor sanitation staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and food safety practices.
- Document cleaning activities, including chemical usage, inspection reports, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance to identify and resolve sanitation issues, ensuring compliance with HACCP and GMP standards.
- Maintain proper inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Investigate and address sanitation-related complaints or safety concerns promptly.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sanitation efficiency and effectiveness.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in food safety, sanitation, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in food manufacturing sanitation, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of sanitation standards, chemical usage, cleaning equipment, and food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP).
- Ability to speak and translate in both English and Spanish preferred
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, cold storage/frozen food environment.
- Flexible schedule, including willingness to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work in cold/freezer environments for extended periods.
- Standing, walking, and bending as part of daily duties.
